Report: Mitsui&Co summons Arctic LNG 2 employees to Japan
TOKYO, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- Japan's Mitsui&Co has summoned all employees of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) project Arctic LNG 2 to Japan because of unclear prospects for the project after the U.S. introduced sanctions against it, newspaper Sankei reported on Tuesday citing sources.
The withdrawal of employees does not mean that Japan had seceded from the project.
Mitsui&Co provided no comment on the matter.
According to the sources cited by Sankei, in case of reduction of the Arctic LNG 2 project, the Japanese investment may turn into bad loans, in which case the Japanese government might discuss sanctions with the U.S.
